Geisinger welcomes 2018 New Year’s babies
DANVILLE, Pa. – Boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. Geisinger welcomed a number of new bundles of joy into the world to start the New Year on January 1.
Four boys and a girl were each born as the first babies of 2018 at Geisinger hospitals at locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Jackson Tyler Reese was born at 1:58 a.m. at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was the first baby of the New Year at GMC, and the first baby throughout the Geisinger system. Jackson was followed 17 minutes later by Taheem Williams at Geisinger's AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre welcomed Austin Michael at 10:36 a.m. as their first baby, and Geisinger Lewistown Hospital welcomed Elliot Jonas Krebs at 1:45 p.m. as their first baby.
To add to the excitement of a New Year’s baby, at AtlantiCare, neonatology physician Stephan Grayson, MD, was the doctor who delivered Taheem. It turns out Dr. Grayson is also a New Year’s baby. She and her twin brother were also born on a New Year’s Day, as was their mother.

At 1:58 a.m., Jackson Tyler Reese was born at 10 pounds, 1 ounce, and 22.5 inches long. He is the son of Deneen and Tyler Reese of Ringtown, Pennsylvania. Jackson joins a sister, Charlotte, at home.

At 2:15 a.m., Taheem Williams was born at 5 pounds, 10 ounces, and 19 inches. He is the son of Tiosha Goddard and Kaleem Williams of Atlantic City. Taheem joins a 3-year-old brother.

At 10:36 a.m., Austin Michael was born at 8 pounds, 9 ounces, and 21 inches. He is the son of Kaitlyn and Anthony of Luzerne County. He is their first child.

At 1:45 p.m., Elliot Jonas was born at 6 pounds, 1.5 ounces and 17.5 inches long. He is the son of Matthew and Brittany Krebs of Lewistown. Elliot joins a 2-year-old brother, Brayden Lyons, at home.
