Established Family Practice joins Geisinger
The practice is now called Geisinger Richfield and will continue to accept most major insurance plans.
Dr. Gene W. Reisinger has practiced in the area for 32 years, bringing expertise in all areas of family medicine and offering high-quality care for patients in Snyder and Juniata counties and surrounding communities.
“This agreement marks a significant benefit for community members who seek health care services across the region,” said Suzy Kobylinski, MD, chair of community medicine. “The addition of the Reisinger Family Practice to our expanding network will support further our deployment of primary care services to residents in this rural community.”
All five staff members of the practice, located on Route 35 in Richfield, will become Geisinger employees. Planned upgrades to the facility include installing the EPIC electronic health record which will connect the practice to all other Geisinger facilities.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for us to continue providing the patient-focused, high-quality care we are known for, while aligning with a nationally renowned system with a similar reputation for caring, excellence and quality,” said Dr. Reisinger. “We look forward to becoming part of Geisinger and its innovative programs.”
Letters have gone out to the practice’s existing patients to inform them of the news. Anyone with questions or who would like to schedule an appointment can call 717-694-9909.
