Established endocrinology practice joins Geisinger
Board certified in endocrinology and metabolic medicine, Dr. Borowski has been in practice for 34 years, most recently as a member of Horizon Medical Group. Past president of the Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and the Lackawanna County Medical Society, Dr. Borowski was also a key developer of the Leahy Clinic for the uninsured at the University of Scranton.
“Dr. Borowski and his team have earned an excellent reputation for high quality and compassionate care,” said Geisinger Medicine Institute Chair J. Edward Hartle, M.D. “They are providing an important service to the Scranton and northeast Pennsylvania community; one that will continue as part of Geisinger.”
Most of the staff members of the practice will become Geisinger employees. Planned upgrades to the facility include installing the EPIC electronic health record and scheduling system, which will connect the practice to all other Geisinger facilities.
“Becoming part of Geisinger is a tremendous opportunity for us to continue providing the patient-focused, quality care we are known for, while aligning with a nationally renowned health care organization with a similar reputation for caring, excellence and quality,” said Dr. Borowski. “We look forward to becoming part of Geisinger and its innovative programs to improve health.”
