Dr. Christian Kauffman named chair of Geisinger’s Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Kauffman will lead a team of board certified clinicians with expertise in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Geisinger’s plastic and reconstructive surgeons offer advanced services such as breast reconstruction, cleft lip and palate repair, body contouring, and reconstruction post trauma and disease. Cosmetic procedures, including breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, and minimally invasive procedures, such as Botox, Filler and Cool Sculpting are also offered at Geisinger locations throughout northeast, central and southcentral Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kauffman joined Geisinger as an associate in plastic surgery in August 2011. He also is a clinical associate professor of surgery for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and serves on the Clinical Use Evaluation Committee at Geisinger Medical Center.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Kauffman earned his medical degree from the University of the Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed his residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas and his pediatric craniofacial surgery fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Kauffman’s clinical interests include cleft lip and palate, craniofacial reconstruction, aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery, cosmetic surgery and microsurgery.
