WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Geisinger has partnered with the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA to sponsor a 12-week program that aims to help cancer survivors move beyond the disease in mind, body and spirit.

LiveStrong with the YMCA has launched and takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at Geisinger Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, 1175 East Mountain Blvd., Wilkes-Barre.

Cancer takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll, and the YMCA and LiveStrong Foundation have come together to create an evidence-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health.

YMCA staff will guide participants through activities that focus on the whole person, building muscle mass and strength, increasing flexibility and endurance, and improving confidence and self-esteem.
