Withdrawal policy
Students who wish to withdraw from Geisinger College of Health Sciences can do so in writing by submitting the Geisinger College Withdrawal Form or orally to the appropriate associate dean or director for their school:
- Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine – Associate Dean for Medical Student Affairs
- Geisinger School of Graduate Education – Associate Dean for Graduate Education
- Geisinger School of Nursing – Director of Geisinger School of Nursing
If the request is submitted orally, the associate dean, director or their designee will help the student complete the Geisinger College Withdrawal Form.
The effective date of withdrawal will be recorded the day you notify the college. You must do the following before an official withdrawal can be completed:
- Return books/materials to the library
- Return college ID card
- Return parking permit (if applicable)
- Complete an exit interview with financial aid
- Complete and submit the official withdrawal form
- Return technology package (if applicable)
The school representative will immediately notify the registrar to withdraw you from all courses. The registrar will immediately notify financial aid and student accounts of the official date of your withdrawal.
Cancellation of charges, if any, will be determined by your official date of withdrawal (see refund policy).
